Me Wants It: Oscar de La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Max Azria and more!

Note: If you are a follower via Google reader, can you please let me know if you are receiving site updates OK?  My feedburner stats suggest that I may have lost all those readers in the transfer, but the numbers seem off.  It would be helpful to know if you are still getting updates.  Thanks!

Happy Monday everyone!  Now that the blog has moved to it’s new home, I am *attempting* to get back to my regularly scheduled posts, including the weekly lust list!  Even though I haven’t shared the items I am coveting the past few weeks, I most certainly still admiring these (and other) pieces!   On to the latest:

Clothing:

As always, I have a thing for fun details.  From the front, this Max Azria dress looks like a classic LBD.   It’s simple.  Timeless.  Then, when you see the sheer chiffon back, you realize it’s perfect!  So unexpected and so sexy.

I love the color of this Alice+Olivia Dress – some people would call it blue (me!).  Others would say it’s purple.  The silhouette is flattering, and the back – the beautiful draping and that strap – make it fun and different.

Full disclosure: as a size 12/14, I have yet to find a pair of leather pants that I think look good on me.  However, in my dream world, these BALMAIN leather skinny pants would be that pair.   The cut is flattering, and the zipper detail make them stand out from the rest.

Continuing the “sexy back” theme, this Pencey backless top would be great for a night out.

Take a close look at this Marc by Marc Jacobs Sweater.  The material looks fun, right?  Could you tell that it’s made out of woven black and white sequins?!  I would wear this everywhere.  Work.  Date night.  Shopping.

Photobucket

I’m a huge fan of L.A.M.B.  I love Gwen Stefani’s look, and I love the aesthetic of her designs.  These black rounded toe suede wedges would be a great wardrobe addition for the fall.

Photobucket

These speak for themselves.  Straight from Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 runway show…. look at that amazing snake.  Genius.  Absolute genius.

Photobucket

These edgy sandals, meanwhile, are from Jason Wu’s show.

Photobucket

Of course, I can’t compile a lust list without a pair of  boots.  These Kors Michael Kors Boots tackle the boot/sock trend in a  great winter color.

Photobucket

Now, on to jewelry… I love the look of mixed metal.   I also have a soft spot for Gemma Redux’s designs.  This piece is different from the tangled chain necklaces she is generally known for.

Photobucket

Stunning earrings, worn by a stunning woman.   The beautiful Freja Beha Erichsen wore these beauties at Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2011 Show.

Photobucket

Finally (and much more affordable than the rest!), is this Alex and Ani Space ring.  Gold-plated recycled metal with a unique stone and setting.  Definitely a statement ring.

What about you – are you finally ready for the Fall, or still hanging on to the last signs of summer?

The last post for me in Google Reader is the one from Sep 17 when you were getting ready to make the switch to Wordpress. When I click “Show Details” it gives me this:

    Feed URL: http://beautifully-invisible.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
Posts per week: 13.3 Subscribers: 81 Last updated: 6:13 PM (seconds ago) A parsing error was encountered.

There’s a link to “Learn more” next to the error message, and that takes me to this page: http://www.google.com/support/reader/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=97875 Not sure if that’ll help at all. It must just have to do with the set feed url? Maybe there’s a way to update it?

Thanks for this. Apparently there is some sort of a problem with google reader not updating posts right now (for a lot of people), so that COULD be the issue. But – it could be something else having to do with the move. I left a question on the help forum with the info. you gave, so hopefully someone will get back to me.

Feedburner points to the new feed url, and the old one is SUPPOSEDLY getting redirected to the new one, so we’ll see. All of my other feed subscribers are showing up on feedburner, it’s just the Google Reader people that are missing. It’s driving me crazy, because I want to know if it’s something I did, or a problem on their end.

Thanks again for the info – that was really helpful!

I am kicking myself for throwing out two pairs of leather pants from my club going days in the 90s.

Sometimes I think it’s safer to not throw out any clothing (if it’s in good condition, of course). You never know when it will come back!

As another size 12/14 amazon, I too cannot find a pair of leather pants that look good on me. Actually, it’s hard to find pants that look good on me! So I feel your pain.

Most places don’t even make leather pants in a 14, so unless a 12 works we’re out of luck! One day, one day…

It’s just so unexpected…. from the front it seems almost TOO covered with teh long sleeves, then you see the back and it’s just so unexpectedly sexy!

I’m loving… well all of it! Esp. the Alice+Olivia frock, love draping! Wish I could look good in leather pants… i’d probably boil in them over here. It’s still as hot as Hades! I’m just having a Ross from Friends thought – talcum powder…everywhere! Ha!

Love Vahni’s pair -she rocks them so check em out!

I saw Vahni’s post – those leggings look killer on her, but then her legs are much skinnier than mine!

Love the Friends reference – that made me laugh out loud. The weather here can’t decide if it’s Fall or Summer. 86 degrees today, 69 yesterday. Hope it cools down for you soon!

    I love ALL these picks!

Hint: go to andrewmarc.com…there is a pair of zippered leather skinnies almost just like Balmain’s, but for way less!

Thanks for the tip. Those skinnies are a dead ringer for the Balmain’s! I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad one that you pointed me in that direction! LOL

I don’t think I saw this post in my blogroll this morning but I could be wrong. I actually clicked the link through Twitter.

Such pretty things! Love the Marc by Marc Jacobs Sweater.
