<h2>Crystal Renn for Chanel Spring/Summer 2011</h2>
<p>Even though I have mixed feelings about <a href="http://www.beautifully-invisible.com/2010/09/gluttony-crystal-renn-for-vogue-paris.html">this</a> editorial, and question her reasoning behind doing it, I still have a soft spot for <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fcrystalrenn.com%2F&amp;sref=rss">Crystal Renn</a>. <h2>Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2011</h2>
<p>You&#8217;ve probably already seen the stunning images from the S/S 2011 Alexander McQueen show.   Although she stayed away from McQueen&#8217;s usual-theatric style, Creative Director Sarah Burton did a phenomenal job bringing the latest designs to the runway &#8211; I think McQueen would be proud!  I love this video because seeing the pieces move with the models brings a whole new life to them.</p>
<p><center><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="640" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Aj7xsISwlMs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Aj7xsISwlMs?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></center></p>
<p>I was also fascinated by the hair on the McQueen runway. Love it!</p>

<h2>The latest in men&#8217;s shapewear&#8230;</h2>
<p>Since we have shape-enhancing underwear for women, it is only fair that the same option be available for men. Right? According to the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.huffingtonpost.com%2F2010%2F10%2F05%2Fmarks-spencer-bum-lift-frontal-enhancement-underwear-bodymax_n_751546.html&amp;sref=rss">Huffington Post</a>, British Department Store <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.marksandspencer.com%2FBodymax-Underwear-Mens%2Fb%2F366093031%3Fie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bpf_rd_r%3D1TDRHCZTR2FS6HQGWX5D%26amp%3Bpf_rd_m%3DA2BO0OYVBKIQJM%26amp%3Bpf_rd_t%3D101%26amp%3Bpf_rd_i%3D43371030%26amp%3Bpf_rd_p%3D475115433%26amp%3Bpf_rd_s%3Dleft-nav-2%3Fextid%3Dfb09&amp;sref=rss">Marks &amp; Spencer</a> has come out with a line of &#8220;bum lift&#8221; and &#8220;frontal enhancement&#8221; underwear that will hit shelves October 15.</p>
<p>I know a lover might feel &#8220;disappointed&#8221; when they first &#8211; ahem &#8211; remove a cup-enhancing brassiere. Personally, though, I think the &#8220;frontal enhancement&#8221; underwear will lead to much greater disappointment! What do you think? Is this taking shapewear <em>too</em> far, or is it just fair?</p>

<h2>Me Wants It</h2>
<p>I haven&#8217;t had much time to blog this week, so I wasn&#8217;t able to post the usual lust list on Monday. Instead, here are a couple of items I am currently coveting:</p>

<p>How was everyone&#8217;s weekend?</p>
<p>It was an interesting and long one in my neck of the woods. We had a big 3-day event at work that was all hands on deck. It was a success, but I am <em>exhausted</em>! I also appear to be fighting off a cold. Friday the weather in Cleveland was in the 90s, and Saturday and Sunday it was high 50s/low 60s. I guess Fall has finally arrived &#8211; no more summer teases!</p>
<p>This week&#8217;s selections are a bit dark, but yet fun. Enjoy!</p>
<p>This <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446382643%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574491979183%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiJjm_it%26amp%3Bev19%3D3%3A8&amp;sref=rss">Nanette Lepore top</a> would look great paired with some dark skinnies. Love the shape and intricate pattern. So cute.</p>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446382643%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574491979183%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiJjm_it%26amp%3Bev19%3D3%3A8&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/5c3d2213.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" width="237" height="317" /></a><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446382643%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574491979183%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiJjm_it%26amp%3Bev19%3D3%3A8&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/78b3867e.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" width="237" height="317" /></a></center></p>
<p>I am a firm believer that you can never have enough jackets, and <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77194&amp;sref=rss">this Isabel Marant</a> piece would be a great addition to any wardrobe. Leather detailing, exposed zippers, and a great silk and wool-blend. This would get a ton of wear!</p>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77194&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/8c4410c7.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" width="207" height="311" /></a><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77194&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/ecd1f41e.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" width="207" height="311" /></a></center></p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know if I would ever have the occasion to wear <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77337&amp;sref=rss">this stunning Diane von Furstenberg</a> creation, but I just can&#8217;t stop staring at it. I love the contrast of the gold and black. I love the movement in the draped silk&#8230; it&#8217;s absolutely beautiful.</p>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77337&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/7caed33b.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" /></a></center></p>
<p>Now, on to some shoes.</p>
<p>Here we have one of <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F81148%23&amp;sref=rss">Christian Louboutin&#8217;s</a> classic pumps, but in a grey-flannel finish. Why not?</p>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F81148%23&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img style="border: 0pt none;" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/0dca7780.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" width="205" height="306" /></a></center></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Well, the weather is finally starting to cool down a bit now.&nbsp; You&#8217;d think I would be thrilled because that means fall styles are around the corner, but now, all of a sudden, I find myself clinging to summer.&nbsp; A few more 90 degree days won&#8217;t hurt anyone!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Nevertheless, this week&#8217;s lust list is all about fall and includes a few pairs of amazonian heels, lace and military-inspired trends and a dragon! </span></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Let&#8217;s begin with this Temperley London tunic.&nbsp; This is probably my favorite piece out of everything listed here.&nbsp; I love the cutout shoulder and the way the intricate beading detail is incorporated into the design.&nbsp; It&#8217;s such a fun piece, and if it didn&#8217;t cost $1,250 I would buy it in a second.&nbsp; Alas, that is (quite) a bit out of my price range.</div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopbop.com%2Fgiovanna-tunic-temperley-london%2Fvp%2Fv%3D1%2F845524441877994.htm%3FfolderID%3D2534374302123238%26amp%3Bfm%3Dbrowse-brand-shopbysize&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/ea0aaffe.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I love the silhouette of this Diane von Furstenberg navy pinstripe dress and the zipper down the back adds the perfect touch of unexpected character. Professional yet flirty.</div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77335&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/d8073b83.jpg" /></a>&nbsp; <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77335&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/56ff3273.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Lace is a big trend for the fall.&nbsp; This Ports 1961 sheath would be perfect for work.&nbsp; The lining is a great autumn color, and the gorgeous lace overlay adds a nice touch of delicacy.</div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446367357%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574492702915%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiGsi_f3%26amp%3Bev19%3D2%3A16&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/51a8552b.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; font-size: small;">I love everything about this Diane von Furstenerg Pilton felted lace coat.&nbsp; It&#8217;s the perfect shape for someone curvy and the lace panels give it a fun and unique look.&nbsp; I would rock this all winter.</span></p>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446372494%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574492191849%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiGskxas%26amp%3Bev19%3D1%3A4&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/54fd8908.jpg" /></a>&nbsp; <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.saksfifthavenue.com%2Fmain%2FProductDetail.jsp%3FPRODUCT%253C%253Eprd_id%3D845524446372494%26amp%3BFOLDER%253C%253Efolder_id%3D282574492191849%26amp%3BbmUID%3DiGskxas%26amp%3Bev19%3D1%3A4&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/38016630.jpg" /></a></center> </p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">On the flip-side of delicate lace, this grey biker jacket offers a unique take on this fall&#8217;s military trend.&nbsp; Instead of the expected leather, Isabel Marant&#8217;s design is made of a wool-blend.&nbsp; Perfect for layering!</div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F77193&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/5fae92d3.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Moving on to footwear&#8230;. I admit I have a thing for Brian Atwood pumps.&nbsp; I love the embellishments he adds to his designs.&nbsp; These Harrison pumps are not only chain embellished, they are also braided!&nbsp; And mauve!&nbsp; Love.</span></div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F81114%23&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/2046bd5b.jpg" /></a>&nbsp; <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F81114%23&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/e46b81c3.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">These Christian Louboutin Bibi 140 suede pumps have a 5.5 inch heel with a 1 inch platform.&nbsp; So what if I am 5&#8217;7 &#8211; I love tall heels!&nbsp; These can be dressed up or down for the fall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F94568%23&amp;sref=rss" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/2a0e28e6.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The unique shape of these Elizabeth and James Mason metallic pumps is what draws me to them.&nbsp; I like the way the platform is designed, and the lizard-embossed pewter color isn&#8217;t too bad either.</span></div>
<p><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopbop.com%2Fplatform-pump-130-30mm-elizabeth%2Fvp%2Fv%3D1%2F845524441874360.htm%3FfolderID%3D2534374302029428%26amp%3Bfm%3Dwhatsnew-shopbysize&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/d5da6b9b.jpg" /></a></center></p>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Finally,<span style="font-size: small;"> I&#8217;ve always wanted a dragon cuff.&nbsp; I love the way John Hardy incorporated some 18K gold into this design for the eyes&#8230; it really makes the dragon come alive.</span></div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">What better way to start this Whatever Wednesday than with some controversy?</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>The Girl With the Disappearing Waist</b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>Disclaimer:</i> I am not a huge Tyra Banks fan, nor am I a fan of <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cwtv.com%2Fshows%2Famericas-next-top-model14&amp;sref=rss">America&#8217;s Next Top Model</a>.&nbsp; I respect Tyra&#8217;s stance on body image, and I&#8217;d be lying if I said I had never seen an episode of the show, but generally speaking I have only watched out of sheer and utter boredom. Project Runway is more my style.&nbsp; I am loving this season of PR, especially hometown girl <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mylifetime.com%2Fshows%2Fproject-runway%2Fseason-8%2Fdesigners%2Fvalerie-mayen&amp;sref=rss">Valerie Mayen&#8217;s</a> work to date!&nbsp; </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">But I digress.&nbsp; Back to ANTM.&nbsp; This latest controversy fits in perfectly with the size/weight debate which has been dominating lately.&nbsp; The source of the controversy is the newly released promo below:</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><center><object height="385" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/k2VJtPTYv4U?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/k2VJtPTYv4U?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></center></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">As you might guess, it&#8217;s Ann&#8217;s body &#8211; specifically her tiny waist &#8211; that is causing the stir.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotobucket.com%2F&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/d332a834.jpg" /></a></center></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Critics are saying that the ad promotes poor body image and I have seen the words &#8220;skeletal,&#8221; &#8220;unnatural,&#8221; and &#8220;anorexic&#8221; attributed to Ann by various sources.&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fnymag.com%2Fdaily%2Ffashion%2F2010%2F08%2Ftyra_banks_says_the_antm_conte.html&amp;sref=rss">New York Magazine</a> printed a piece on the story which included a statement from Tyra.&nbsp; Her response seems to indicate that Ann does not have a healthy body image: </span></div>
<blockquote style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><p><span style="font-size: small;">&#8220;&#8230;During this season of Top Model, you will see that Ann (the woman featured in the trailer) provided another opportunity for me to support a young woman struggling with her own body image issues (she&#8217;s 6&#8217;2&#8221;; and is the receiver of countless stares and ridicule). Helping young ladies, like Ann and countless others that have confided in me, furthers and supports my core mission.&#8221;</span></p></blockquote>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Although the ANTM judges appears to be taken aback when they first see Ann, there is no question that the promo makes it seem that the panel is ultimately approving of Ann&#8217;s figure.&nbsp; This is where the concern lies.&nbsp; Based on Tyra&#8217;s comments above, it appears that the show will delve into Ann&#8217;s body image issues this season.&nbsp; I would also infer, from that comment, that Ann may be completely healthy and perhaps just has a very unique body type.&nbsp; The concern is &#8211; again &#8211; what will impressionable young women think when they see that type of body being promoted?&nbsp; What if they don&#8217;t watch the show, and just see the promo, and come to the conclusion that must be the ideal body shape?&nbsp; For the majority of women, it certainly is not. &nbsp;</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">This is essentially the flip-side of the plus-size debate.&nbsp; Shouldn&#8217;t both sides be represented?&nbsp; In theory, yes.&nbsp; I would argue, however, that in my experience I have seen countless plus-size women, and very few that have Ann&#8217;s proportions (actually, none).&nbsp; Hopefully Ann is a healthy, unique young woman and ANTM can use this controversy to help promote a positive body image. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">What are your thoughts on the subject?&nbsp; </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp; </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Angelina Jolie as Marilyn Monroe?</b></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The past few days rumors have been flying that Angelina Jolie has signed on to play Marilyn Monroe in the adaptation of Andrew O&#8217;Hagan&#8217;s novel <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FLife-Opinions-Friend-Marilyn-Monroe%2Fdp%2F0151013721%2Fref%3Dsr_1_1%3Fie%3DUTF8%26amp%3Bs%3Dbooks%26amp%3Bqid%3D1282100785%26amp%3Bsr%3D8-1&amp;sref=rss">The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe</a>.&nbsp; According to <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Ftvshowbiz%2Farticle-1303517%2FAngelina-Jolie-star-Marilyn-Monroe-new-movie.html&amp;sref=rss">The Daily Mail</a>, Angelina had beat out both Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks for the role.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Although I have always loved Angelina Jolie, I don&#8217;t know if I like the idea of her playing Marilyn.&nbsp; Physically she just doesn&#8217;t seem voluptuous enough. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotobucket.com%2F&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="263" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/b05ca609.jpg" width="400" /></a></center>&nbsp; </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">I was relieved when <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Flatimesblogs.latimes.com%2Fgossip%2F2010%2F08%2Fangelina-jolie-not-marilyn-monroe.html&amp;sref=rss">The Los Angeles Times</a> confirmed that Angelina is not attached to the project after all.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>

<p><span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">DVF&#8217;s newest creation</span></b></span><br /><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Now for some news that hits closer to home: Diane Von Furstenberg has helped to design a line of hospital gowns!&nbsp; </span><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newsweek.com%2Fblogs%2Fthe-human-condition%2F2010%2F08%2F12%2Fdiane-von-furstenberg-s-newest-creation-hospital-gowns.html&amp;sref=rss" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">According to Jeanne Ryan</a><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">, the Cleveland Clinic staffer overseeing the project, the redesign has been underway for 3 years. The Cleveland Clinic finally began piloting the new prototype-gown design in May, and so far the reviews are good.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><center><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotobucket.com%2F&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="400" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/4c1fb40c.jpg" width="252" /></a></center> </span></span></p>
<blockquote style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><p><span style="font-size: small;">&#8220;The current model is a full-coverage, reversible design, incorporating the Cleveland Clinic’s diamond logo into von Furstenberg’s signature repetition pattern. Other changes include an elastic waistband, wrap-around closure, and a wide V-neck to accommodate chest monitoring and stethoscopes. </p>
<p>Most important&#8230; the gown is functional while preserving modesty: &#8220;Physicians can open the gown to expose the part they need to access without exposing the patient completely.&#8221;&#8221;</span> </p></blockquote>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Not something you would generally expect to see from a designer of Von Furstenberg&#8217;s caliber, right?&nbsp; Well, they may not be high-fashion, but they are DVF!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>COACH Poppy Project redux</b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">If you are a regular reader of my blog, you may have noticed that I have removed the COACH Poppy project from my side bar.&nbsp; There is a <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fheartifb.com%2F2010%2F08%2F17%2Fhow-do-bloggers-benefit-from-the-coach-poppy-project%2F%3Futm_source%3Dfeedburner%26amp%3Butm_medium%3Dfeed%26amp%3Butm_campaign%3DFeed%253A%2BIndependentFashionBloggers%2B%2528Independent%2BFashion%2BBloggers%2529&amp;sref=rss">great conversation</a> going on at IFB on the project and what it&#8217;s true benefits (or lack thereof) may be for bloggers.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">If you haven&#8217;t done so already I encourage you to check it out.&nbsp; The post and subsequent comments really made me take a look at the perceived &#8220;benefits&#8221; I was getting and I decided &#8211; for myself- that it didn&#8217;t make sense to participate.&nbsp; That may not be true for you, but it&#8217;s worth looking into!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The good news is &#8211; no more annoying Grow, Poppy Grow tweets from me!&nbsp;</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Is that a *collective sigh of relief* I hear?&nbsp; <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/72x72/1f642.png" alt="🙂" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /><br /></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">So what do you do instead?&nbsp; </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">I’ve been spending a lot of time online “window shopping” and expanding my shopping lists.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Let’s start with the items I am currently coveting from <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopbop.com%2F&amp;sref=rss">shopbop</a> and <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2F&amp;sref=rss">net-a-porter</a>.&nbsp; These would all be GREAT additions to my life:</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">This oversized Roberto Cavalli labradorite ring.&nbsp; As Gollum would say “me wants it….”</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F80553%23&amp;sref=rss" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/58de451f.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">I love Alice + Olivia and this one-shoulder draped silk and jersey minidress is just gorgeous.&nbsp; &nbsp;Love the color!</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">

<p><span style="font-size: small;"> <b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">And in the same vein, this Alice + Olivia faux wrap dress.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopbop.com%2Fkarilyn-faux-wrap-dress-belt%2Fvp%2Fv%3D1%2F845524441871715.htm%3FfolderID%3D2534374302023685%26amp%3Bfm%3Dbrowse-brand-shopbysize&amp;sref=rss" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/1c1a5ef5.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=6912X659823&amp;xs=1&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.shopbop.com%2Fvoula-ombre-sequin-dress-alice%2Fvp%2Fv%3D1%2F845524441872627.htm%3FfolderID%3D2534374302023685%26amp%3Bfm%3Dbrowse-brand-shopbysize&amp;sref=rss" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx107/beautifullyinvisible/be057d29.jpg" /></a></span></div>
