As I already mentioned to Kristy, I am so happy for her that I almost feel like I won the contest, and I wasn’t even a contestant! There are no words to describe how delighted and excited I am for Kristy, so all I will say is this:

Kristy, I can’t wait to follow your NYC adventures and see what the future has in store for you. The sky is the limit!

This post is going to be a bit of “something old” and “something new” intertwined.

Does everyone remember Kristy Eléna?  A few weeks ago I published a blog post raving about her and her countless talents.   You may have read it then, but in honor of #TEAMKRISTY DAY it bears repeating.

I kid you not – this woman has got it all.   Have you ever referred to someone who is unbelievably talented as a triple, or even quadruple, threat?  Well, Kristy Eléna is so much more than that.   She is one of those people that you meet once in a lifetime that seems to just defy all expectations.  Just when you thought she couldn’t get any smarter, more beautiful, more caring, or more talented – she does it again.  She is truly extraordinary.

And I am not the only one who thinks so.  Countless bloggers across the world are banding together today to support Kristy in her efforts to become Sunglass Hut’s Full Time Fabulous Blogger.  She and the 9 other contestants are knee-deep in a month long blog-off where they are posting on their personal Sunglass Hut blog each day.

Just a quick blog post to share two projects with you, both of which need your help (if you are so willing!) to succeed.

1.  Help Design Glut fund their latest collection of jewelry via Kickstarter!

I wasn’t familiar with Design Glut until I came across this project on Kickstarter a few days ago.  This Brooklyn, NY based jewelry line was started by Kegan Fisher and Liz Kinnmark in 2007, when they were still students.  Their jewelry is fun, cheeky, and unique.  Definitely worth a look!

In their own words:

“a lot of people think we’re bigger than we are – but really, we’re 2 people in a Brooklyn loft. And we’re proud of that fact! We’re doing this work because we love it, and we because we believe it’s possible to live your dreams.”

The duo turned to Kickstarter to raise $10,000 to fund their newest collection, which includes 33 new pieces of jewelry. The breakdown is as follows: 33 designs x 3 colors each x $100 a prototype + $100 shipping = $10,000.  As I write this, they are at $8,086 pledged of their $10,000 goal.  They have until Thursday, November 11th at 10:34am EST to raise the rest.  Check out some of the new designs below, and if you are interested in supporting the project, or seeing more of their new collection, click on any of the images below!
