I loved Michael’s fashions – all of them. Although I must admit having some trouble dealing with the gold thong leotard he had. Moving on> I too hated that dress Molly Ringwald had but liking her Breakfast Club outfit. I was more Madonna style than Claire style but I still cherish the memories of both.

The winner would have her dress made for her. I think I was…seven? Eight? Anyway, my dress was totally based on Lime Chiffon's pale green frock with pink and white flowers around the hem. I wanted that dress so badly! I didn't win; some older girl won with an elegant asymmetrical t-shirt dress of navy and black, IIRC. My mom showed me the girl with her design in the newspaper. I remember thinking, "how boring!"

My toddler now loves the modern Strawberry Shortcake Saturday cartoons. I'll have to see if I can dig up my old dolls when I'm at the family homestead next time.
